Baltimore's Farm-to-School Movement - Tony Geraci/Greg Strella

Tony Geraci, Director of Food and Nutrition for Baltimore City Public Schools, and Greg Strella, Farm Manager of Great Kids Farm to speak at Towson Library, Wednesday September 23, 2009 6 – 7:30 pm.

Former Restaurateur Tony Geraci is one of the architects of the national Farm-to-School movement, and of a “best practices” example of innovative approaches to nutrition at his former position at New Hampshire public schools. His department has taken over a 33 acre Catonsville farm now used for vocational training and organic food production for Baltimore City’s schools.

Greg Strella has worked with thousands of students and volunteers to develop the Bragg Nature Center into a thriving educational organic farm. Optional donations appreciated to defray costs.
